March for Meals 2022

Can you believe it’s been 50 years since Meals on Wheels began?

50 years ago, legislation was enacted that provides healthy meals for older adults. This legislation provided for creation of senior centers as an avenue for older adults to gather for fellowship and good nutrition. It also provided for homebound older adults to be able to get healthy meals delivered to their homes – Meals on Wheels.

This March, we are celebrating this 50-year anniversary by participating in MARCH FOR MEALS. March for Meals is a month-long celebration to raise awareness and rally support for these vital programs. Last year alone, we provided about 20,000 meals here in Daviess County to help keep older adults healthy and in their own homes and communities.

The following businesses/organizations are MEAL CHAMPIONS. They provided a donation to cover the cost of raw food for our nutrition program.
